October 28, 2026 - Weezer have announced The Gathering Australia and New Zealand Tour 2027 with promoter Destroy All Lines, their first Australian headline tour in 14 years, according to Rolling Stone Australia. The run opens at RAC Arena in Perth on Wednesday, February 24 and moves through Adelaide, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, Sydney's Afterpay Arena and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre before closing at Spark Arena in Auckland on Sunday, March 7, presented in New Zealand by The Rock. Third Eye Blind and Fountains of Wayne join as special guests. Destroy All Lines notes the tour marks the first New Zealand show for both support acts and an Australian return for Fountains of Wayne. The shows support Gold, released in August.

The Backspin HQ Perspective

The Gathering is the tour built around Gold, an album Rolling Stone Australia rated four stars, and Australia is getting it at full arena scale after a 14-year gap between headline tours. Backspin saw the production early: Vancouver's Rogers Arena on September 12 was only the fourth show of the run, and the suburban-neighbourhood staging and the Gold Cam built around 'C.E.O.' made it one of the more conceptually complete arena shows of the fall. The 2027 support bill leans on the same era Weezer came up in, with Third Eye Blind and Fountains of Wayne, a contrast to the North American run with The Shins and Silversun Pickups that we covered in San Diego.
