The Backspin HQ Perspective

Backspin followed the After Hours Til Dawn Tour from its first run through the Pacific Northwest. Our photographer Josh Behm shot the Lumen Field show in Seattle in August 2022, and we covered the BC Place stop in Vancouver ahead of it. The tour's most recent Vancouver date was July 15, 2025, when Tage Stenner photographed The Weeknd at BC Place for our After Hours Til Dawn Vancouver recap.

The finale was a late extension. The Asia leg was announced in May with 11 dates and grew to 17 sold-out shows, including three nights in Bangkok and four at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium, per JamBase. On October 24 at the first Kai Tak show, The Weeknd debuted 'Hong Kong', which samples Faye Wong's 1993 song 'Monsoon', also per JamBase.

The scale is the story. A tour that started in July 2022 with a Philadelphia stadium date has now played 176 shows, and 2026 alone accounted for more than 3 million tickets and more than $500 million, per JamBase. Live Nation's record is specific to male artists: Complex notes that Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and Coldplay's Music of the Spheres Tour have grossed more overall.
