The Backspin HQ Perspective
Syd has quietly been one of the most influential voices in modern R&B for over a decade, and Beard sounds like the record where her solo identity fully locks in. Starting the tour at the Commodore is a gift for Vancouver: it's one of the best-sounding rooms in the country and exactly the right size for an artist this intimate. With Camp Flog Gnaw in the middle of the run, expect her to arrive in L.A. with the show fully dialled in. This one is close, so don't wait on tickets.
