Zach Top brought his Cold Beer and Country Music Tour to Rogers Arena on November 14th, marking his first ever performance in Vancouver and a debut that felt like the beginning of a long relationship with the city. Supporting his breakout album Cold Beer and Country Music, the rising country star delivered a night that blended charm, storytelling, and the unmistakable twang of classic country.

Fans in the arena walked in with one piece of unfortunate news. Opener Jake Worthington, who has been going viral for his hit It Ain’t The Whiskey, was denied entry at the border. Zach Top reposted a video from Jake on his own Instagram story, telling fans, “Hey Vancouver, so sorry brother Jake wont be able to make it, so it looks like you just get me tonight. Get here on time cuz with no opener we will probably go on a little early. See ya there!”.
In Jake’s video, he explained he had some trouble years ago back in Texas and those mistakes still follow him today. Fans were disappointed, but once inside Rogers Arena, their excitement took over. There was no shortage of cowboy hats, boots, belt buckles, and Zach Top merch. Some fans at the barricade said they had been standing in line for four hours just to claim their front row spot.
With no opener, the show began early. Just after eight thirty, Zach Top calmly walked out holding his guitar and a bottle of water. He placed them on a stool next to an ice cold Coors Banquet and an ashtray, a setup that felt like an intentional nod to classic country. Within seconds, the arena was locked in.

A few songs into the set, Zach picked up the Coors Banquet can, held it up to the microphone, and cracked it open. The sound echoed through the venue and the crowd erupted. He took a sip, smiled, and went straight into Bad Luck, a moment that fit perfectly with his traditional sound and laid back stage presence.
After finishing the song, Zach took several minutes to talk with the crowd, sharing a story that only made the night feel more personal. He thanked everyone for showing up, whether they lived nearby or travelled in from out of town, saying, “It means the world to me that you did”. He then explained the chaotic day that almost kept him from getting into the country.
“In all the days leading up to our trip out here, I was in Tennessee, we played Eugene Oregon on Thursday night, and Seattle last night, and somehow in all the days leading up to tonight flying out, it never once crossed my mind coming to Canada I probably needed to bring my passport”. He realized the mistake the night before and knew he might have trouble getting across the border.

He called his girlfriend in the middle of the night and asked her to find it. She tracked it down, booked a flight, flew to Vancouver at two in the morning, rented a car, and drove it south into Washington to meet the band. “It felt like a fever dream”, Zach said. “I am glad to be here”.
He also touched on his Seattle show the night before, saying, “If you cant tell, I had a bunch of friends out in Seattle and we stayed up too late. I got on the tequila”. He laughed, admitted he was a little slow to start, then eased right back into his smooth delivery.
Across the night, he mixed singles like Sounds Like the Radio, Between the Ditches, Showboat Gambler, and Cold Beer and Country Music with bluegrass roots and crowd favourites. Covers of Slow Hand, Two Dozen Roses, and I Think I will Just Stay Here and Drink showed his reverence for the genre that shaped him.

Born Zachary Dirk Top, in Sunnyside Washington, Zach Top grew up on a farm surrounded by the sounds of classic country. He had a guitar in hand by age 3 and formed a bluegrass band with his siblings at age 7. By the time he reached Nashville in 2021, he had already built a loyal grassroots following. His career accelerated quickly with his debut album in 2024 and his sophomore project Aint In It For My Health in 2025. In the last year he earned an ACM Award, a CMA nomination, and critical praise that positioned him as one of country’s most promising traditionalists.
After the Vancouver show, Zach heads to Nashville to appear at the CMA Awards before resuming the remaining North American dates. From there, the tour moves overseas with stops in Zurich, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Rotterdam, Berlin, London, Belfast, and Glasgow.
His show in Vancouver proved why his rise has been so swift. Zach Top carries the confidence of a seasoned performer and the humility of someone who still treats every city like a first impression. Vancouver welcomed him warmly, and if this debut is any indication, it certainly will not be his last visit.
