The Backspin HQ Perspective
Ocean Alley are a band Backspin follows closely. We were at History in Toronto in July 2025, the band's sixth visit to the city, when they previewed the then-unreleased 'Drenched' ahead of Love Balloon. That record went on to peak at No. 3 on the ARIA albums chart, and its home-country tour in early 2026 moved more than 80,000 tickets across 11 dates, according to The Music Network. The song that opened the door overseas is still 'Confidence', the 2018 triple j Hottest 100 winner that found a second life on TikTok in late 2023. For Vancouver, the PNE Forum show follows a July 6, 2024 stop at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at UBC, which closed their 2024 North American tour. Before this run starts, the band join Kings of Leon as special guests on their 2027 Australian and New Zealand tour.
