TL;DR: Metallica are bringing the M72 World Tour back to North American stadiums in 2027 with Limp Bizkit and Avatar, and the run kicks off at Vancouver's BC Place on May 8.
September 16, 2026 - Metallica have confirmed 12 new North American stadium dates for the M72 World Tour, which has played 99 shows in 26 countries to nearly five million fans since launching in April 2023. The new run follows the band's Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, running October 1, 2026 to March 13, 2027, then resumes May 8 at BC Place and visits a dozen cities the tour hasn't hit yet, including El Paso, Fayetteville, Buffalo and Madison, before closing June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. As always, part of every ticket supports local charities through the band's All Within My Hands foundation.

The Backspin HQ Perspective
Opening a stadium leg in Vancouver is a big deal, and BC Place on May 8 means local fans get the band fresh off a six-month Sphere residency with the production at its sharpest. The M72 in-the-round stage is still the most impressive stadium setup in metal, and pairing it with Limp Bizkit's nostalgia rush and Avatar's theatrics makes for a wildly varied night. The routing deliberately targets cities M72 hasn't visited, which is a smart way to keep a four-year tour feeling fresh.
