The Backspin HQ Perspective
The 2027 bill keeps the shape the festival used last year: a dance headliner, a pop star and a rock band across the three main nights. In 2026 it was Lewis Capaldi, Calvin Harris and The Cure. Backspin was at Rogers Arena when Capaldi closed his North American tour with a sold-out show in May 2026, and Harris has since booked his first North American headline arena tour for spring 2027, including Vancouver and Toronto. This year's first wave is largely British, with Australia's 5 Seconds of Summer, Ireland's Inhaler and Sweden's The Cardigans among the exceptions, and it gives Kings of Leon the closing slot on the festival's 25th edition since its revival.
