The Backspin HQ Perspective
Turner set this up in a September 28 statement, reported by NME, that read in part: "After 28 years on the road, 10 albums and well over 3,000 shows, it's time for a change." He pointed to the economics of touring and his own health, and said the Wembley shows "will be my last for the foreseeable future." Last Evenings is the victory lap before that pause, built around a catalogue that now runs through his tenth album, Undefeated.
Lost Evenings began at London's Roundhouse in 2017 and has since moved through Boston, Berlin, Anaheim, Toronto, Edinburgh and Dallas, with Toronto hosting the seventh edition in September 2024. Closing it at Wembley's arena gives the festival its biggest room. For Vancouver, the March 10 show keeps Turner at the Commodore Ballroom, the 19+ room where Backspin most recently covered Fontaines D.C.'s Romance tour.
