The Backspin HQ Perspective
Collective Soul are the outlier on a country-first bill, and Country Thunder is leaning into it: 620 CKRM framed the booking as a nod to the '90s rock icons, and Saturday night is theirs. Backspin last covered the band when they reunited with +LIVE+ for the 2025 Summer Unity Tour, their first co-headlining run together in 17 years, with Our Lady Peace as special guests.
The undercard leans hard on Canadian talent. Blue Rodeo, Tim Hicks and Owen Riegling join Saskatchewan's own Jess Moskaluke, and Benoit said the festival "always love[s] to shine a spotlight on Canadian homegrown talent." Riegling was most recently on Backspin's radar in our Toronto concerts this weekend guide, ahead of his November 1 show in Hamilton.
